How we see the world

What is reality?

We perceive many different sensory events simultaneously. But a typical representational painting or photograph often fits neatly into a rectangle on canvas or paper. But our reality is not like that at all.

This new series of paintings explores moments of time and contain many different images, sensations, emotions, memories that are experienced at the same moment of time.

The images can be upside down or backwards or make no sense in our perception of what we consider reality. They might just be parts of what we see layered over images that are not related. We might see something and in unison visualize a memory. There paintings are also about sensations, feelings, emotions, sounds and smells layered into the paintings. We are capable of sensing energy and our intuition is a superpower.

These paintings represent the fullness of our perceptional abilities. I’m using animals and landscape to ground us in what we consider reality.
